    CARTE DE VISITE (CDV) OF A STUDIOUS YOUNG MAN WORKING AT A PORTABLE DESK. At first, I thought that was an inkwell on the side, but I fear he’s left a glass of tonic directly on the fine wood furniture. Tsk tsk!!!
    The date is imprecise hence the 'circa,' but judging from the mount, 1869 is about right.
    No maker mark or location.
    SIZE. Approximately 4 x 2 7/16 inches.
    CONDITION. Photo: Mottled with spots and splotches. Border: Spots and some soiling. Mount: Light wear at corners. Front has spots and some soiling. Back has spots, soiling, and foxing.
    APPEARANCE. Very good tones. Very good details. Nice lighting. Great content.
