Käthe von Dombrowski zu Papros und Krusvic, or Käthe Olshausen-Schönberger] (1881-1967)
Kathe Olshausen-Schonberger (* June 11th 1881 in Mödling - Hinterbrühl , † January 1, 1968 in Graz ) was an Austrian writer and illustrator . Her work also appeared under the name Kate Schoenberger, Katharina von Dombrowski, Katherine von Dombrowski, Baroness von Dombrowski and the symbol KOS.
Life
Kathe Olshausen-Schonberger was on 11 June 1881 in Mödling as Catherine Ludovika Schoenberger was born. She grew up in Abbazia , and came at the age of 14 years from Berlin . Completed without adequate training to have, she was at the age of 20 years a well known illustrator and graphic artist of bookplates and animal caricatures. Numerous drawings of the artist were first in the flying leaves and later published in book form. In 1914 she won the silver medal in the Bugra Leipzig .
The double name she took after her marriage to German diplomat Franz Olshausen on. This relationship comes from a descendant of the biochemist Joern Olshausen (1903-1988). In marriage, with Olshausen, she lived in Berlin, Munich, Königstein im Taunus, sometimes also in New York, South America and probably in Africa.
His second wife, she was married to Carl Ritter von Dombrowski to Papros and Kruswic. Then she used the name of Catherine Dombrowsky for their works. From 1930, she published numerous novels, short stories and essays. They also worked in film and radio drama and as a translator from English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
Works
Especially in her work is to participate in Fridtjof Nansen's appeal for donations Russia and her anti-militarist novel country highlight the women.
In the German National Library , they will run under Catherine of Dombrowski.
It was in 1900 for Cologne's chocolate producers Ludwig Stollwerck with designs for Stollwerck collecting images and active designs included "The Storks" and "Bird" for Stollwerck. The series "Reineke Fuchs" they created for Palmin . Your collection images she used to sign with KOS.
