    Description

    This beautiful watercolor scroll on paper depicts a herd of galloping horses.  The artist caught the movement and expression of each individual horse to make this a true work of art.  I believe the scroll dates from the first half of the twentieth century and it has calligraphy, signature and seals which may confirm the date and artist.  I purchased it years ago at an estate sale of a noted collector of Asian art, but don't know its provenance before that.   It has been stored rolled up and is in excellent condition.  The entire scroll measures 87" by 40" and the watercolor image is 66" by 36".  The price I am asking was the auction estimate price.
