One-ninth plate daguerreotype with original seals by Dr. Van Alstin as embossed on the brass gilded mat. This daguerreotype came out of an Audubon society’s silent auction in 1975. It was purchased for .00 dollars.
Not certain what kind of Doctor Mr. Van Alstin was... but he certainly was a photographer as well.
